I'm Awake

Faith is the means of our justification. Why faith? Why is faith God’s chosen means to justify us right before Himself? Why not love? Why not humility, joy, or wisdom? Because faith is the anti-work. Faith is the desperate acknowledgment that there is nothing you can do and you have to trust in what somebody else has already done. Faith is coming to the end of yourself and saying Nothing in my hands I bring, simply in the cross I cling. When you come to faith in Christ, what you are basically saying is, I give up, I can’t do it, I have tried to do it, and I need Christ to do it for me.
